Why are we starting the funding process so early?
As many of you know the United Way of Lunenburg County recently merged with six other Maritime United Way’s. This merger will still allow for local funding decisions but for regional reporting purposes we need to align with the funding schedules of the other 6 Maritime United Ways.
As part of coming together we will be collectively developing our new Community Impact Strategy and a regional funding framework that will include outcomes and reporting requirements. There will be an opportunity for you as funded partners to provide input and help inform the strategy prior to any potential shifts to the funding framework. Throughout this period of transition, and by coming together we will be able to make a bigger impact for our communities as persistent social issues like poverty, food insecurity and the housing crisis continue to grow.
With this in mind, Lunenburg County Funding Applications will be reviewed in November and December. Final Funding decisions will be made in March with projects to begin April 2025 (or later) 2025.
